An Elesu is an initiated devotee of Orisha Esu (pronounced and often spelled “Eshu”). In the past, due to colonization and the spread of foreign interest based religion, the term used to be insulting or implying someone was demonic or satanic. Esu is not the devil! So it is good to see African spirituality gaining followers in the Motherland, and passing to the next generation. It is good that children will be raised viewing their ancestors as beloved guides instead of devil worshipers.
