The Fun of Foraging

Alexis Nikole 🌾🍀 on Instagram: “Yaupon Tea! ☕️ ever since I had an amazing tea blend featuring yaupon @owamni last year, I’ve hoped I’d get to forage and roast my own! Thanks to my friend Paige’s wedding I got my chance! I also caught the bouquet at the wedding! 😜💕✨” from Instagram

ForagingAlexis Nikole Nelson (BlackForager) is teaching the internet how to safely forage for food — for free.
She says seeking out mushrooms, plants and weeds for meals helps her feel “connected” to the environment, adding she wants to see a world where everyone feels “entitled to the outdoors.” https://cbsn.ws/3AN6MlK
Update April 2023 – This was our first video posted on Africans.live. About once a year I intend to go through the posts and whittle down to the ones from the past year that have aged well and are worth keeping posted. Of course I’d think all of them are, but sometimes people change, reinvent themselves, or have enough, and I respect that.
In this case though, Alexis has continued her work spreading the joy of foraging, and created a wonderful Instagram page. Go check it out. You will learn and laugh a lot.
